dea Now Breast Subsidy Approved: Here’s What That Means for You

Healing isn’t just physical; it’s emotional, energetic, and deeply personal. That’s why we’re so honoured to share that dea is now an approved provider for the Ministry of Health’s Breast Prosthesis Subsidy.

This means if you’re a New Zealand citizen and have had a mastectomy or partial breast surgery, you may be eligible for funding support that can now be used toward dea bras, thoughtfully made for sensitive skin, comfort, and healing.

What is the Breast Prosthesis Subsidy?

The Breast Prosthesis Subsidy is a government-funded initiative offered through Te Whatu Ora – Health New Zealand, providing financial support to those who have experienced breast surgery due to breast cancer.

This funding can be used to purchase external breast prostheses, along with approved bras.

What You Can Use the Subsidy For at dea

With dea now officially approved, you can use your funding to purchase our organic cotton bra. Our Branna bra is wire-free, soft-cup support made with GOTS organic, breathable cotton.

Our pieces are designed not just for comfort but to nurture your body and honour your healing. We use organic cotton, low-tox plant-based dyes, and no synthetic irritants so you can feel confident that your skin is safe and supported.

How to Claim Your Funding

The process is simple:

  1. Check your eligibility for the Breast Prosthesis Subsidy. Most women who have had a unilateral or bilateral mastectomy or partial breast surgery qualify.

  2. Ask your GP, breast care nurse, or specialist to confirm your eligibility and issue the appropriate documentation.

  3. Contact us at hello@dealoves.co.nz — we’ll guide you through the steps.

  4. Once processed, we’ll invoice the Ministry of Health directly for the eligible amount — no upfront payment needed.

The Energetics of Scars

When our bodies heal from surgery, they don’t just knit skin and tissue, they hold energy, memory, and emotion. Scars can carry unspoken stories. That’s why what we place against them matters.

Synthetic fibres, chemical dyes, and tight elastic can irritate not just the skin, but the subtle energy field around a healing wound. Choosing organic, breathable materials is one way we help restore calm, trust, and safety to the body.
